Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying and selling electronics on Carousell.
How do I ensure the electronic item I am buying is functional?
We recommend checking the seller's ratings and requesting a video of the device in operation. For added security, use Carousell Protection, which holds your payment until you confirm the item is as described.
What is Carousell Protection and how does it apply to electronics?
Carousell Protection is our in-app payment system that ensures a safe transaction. If your electronic gadget is not received or differs significantly from the listing, you are eligible for a full refund.
Can I return a refurbished smartphone if I change my mind?
Returns are subject to the individual seller's policy. However, listings marked as 'Certified' come with a 7-day return policy and a warranty for peace of mind.
How does shipping work for fragile electronic components?
Sellers can choose between integrated door-to-door delivery or custom couriers. We advise sellers to use bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard boxes to prevent damage during transit.
Are there any warranties provided for second-hand laptops?
Standard second-hand items do not usually come with a manufacturer's warranty. We encourage buyers to ask sellers if any original warranty remains or to browse our 'Certified' electronics range for inclusive coverage.
How do I pay for my electronics purchase?
You can pay securely through the app using credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Carousell coins. Cash on delivery is also an option if you choose to meet the seller in person.
